Charles B. Wang Community Health Center Officials Meet with Newly Elected President of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association

Representatives from the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) met last week with the newly elected President of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA), Tony Chuy, to extend their congratulations and discuss future collaboration opportunities. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Betty Cheng, Board Member Pauline Tse, and Director of Marketing and Community Relations Maggie Wong represented the Health Center at the meeting.

During the meeting, Betty Cheng provided an overview of the Health Center’s history, which spans more than 50 years, beginning with its founding in Chinatown to serve Chinese immigrants. Today, CBWCHC offers a broad range of primary care services, including internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dental care, mental health services, and primary eye care. In addition to its Chinatown locations, the Health Center has expanded to Flushing, Queens, continuing its mission to provide high-quality health care to the Asian community and other underserved community members.

The CBWCHC team emphasized the Health Center’s commitment to delivering comprehensive care to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. They also highlighted the availability of a sliding fee discount for all, no matter their insurance status, including self-pay patients without insurance to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent access to quality health care.

Board Member Pauline Tse extended a formal invitation to President Chuy and CCBA’s affiliated associations to visit CBWCHC’s facilities and gain firsthand knowledge of its available services and special programs for the community.

Looking to the future, CBWCHC expressed its dedication to collaborating with CCBA to provide the community with crucial health prevention and social services information. This collaboration aims to further strengthen the ties between the two organizations as they work together to support the well-being of the community.
