Charles B. Wang Community Health Center Clinches Top Honors from HRSA in 2023

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) proudly announced that 2023 was the ninth consecutive year it was recognized with some of the highest awards bestowed by the federal Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. CBWCHC’s dedication to clinical quality earned it Health Center Quality Leader "Gold" recognition, an honor granted only to the top 10% of health centers nationwide.

CBWCHC, which provides internal medicine, pediatrics, OB-GYN, dental care and mental health services, stands as the only health center in New York state to achieve the National Quality Leader for Diabetes Health badge. This prestigious recognition, shared by only six health centers across the United States, highlights CBWCHC’s exceptional commitment to providing world-class diabetes care. The emphasis on empowering patients to manage their diabetes through a combination of medication and sustained health lifestyle adjustments is a cornerstone of the Health Center’s approach to health care.

Furthermore, HRSA recognized CBWCHC as a COVID-19 Public Health Champion, highlighting its exceptional contributions in providing critical public health services during the COVID-19 public health emergency. The Health Center also earned recognition for Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality, demonstrating its use of technology to enhance health care services.
