Charles B. Wang Community Health Center CEO Named to City & State Power of Diversity: Asian 100 List
Kaushal Challa, CEO of the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC), was named Monday to the City & State 2024 Power of Diversity: Asian 100 list. The list features the 100 most influential leaders in government, business, advocacy, and other sectors who are ensuring that Asian Americans have a voice.
Since becoming CEO just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Challa has furthered CBWCHC’s commitment to the health and well-being of historically underserved communities in lower Manhattan and Queens. Under his leadership, the Health Center has earned national acclaim for clinical excellence and addressing barriers to health care access.
In addition to his role at CBWCHC, Challa serves as the Board Vice President for the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO). In this capacity, he advocates tirelessly for the diverse health needs of AAPI communities and the organizations that serve them.
"We are thrilled to see Kaushal Challa's contributions to diversity and health care excellence recognized on such a prestigious platform," said Betty Cheng, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center. "His leadership has been instrumental in our mission to provide quality care to those who need it most, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved honor."
Challa's inclusion in the City & State Power of Diversity: Asian 100 list underscores CBWCHC's ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in health care.
