Zheya (Jenny) Yu, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Yu is a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience in health and medicine, and serves as Chief of Mental Health at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center.
She provides diagnostic and treatment assessment for a wide range of mental illness, including anxiety, depression, and adjustment and psychotic disorders. Dr. Yu also provides individual therapy for patients of all ages. She works collaboratively with the medical and psychiatric teams to enhance care for her patients.
Dr. Yu takes a holistic approach to helping her patients reach their potential and achieve harmony with their families, school, and work. She is a tireless advocate for Asian mental health—having given numerous lectures on the subject throughout the United States. She established a free support group in Philadelphia’s Chinatown to promote mental health among Asian teenagers who otherwise had difficulties in accessing care.
Dr. Yu enjoys arranging flowers, listening to NPR, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
